The importance of our faith
Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” As sin entered the world, our relationship with God the Father was totally ruined.
Jesus came into our world, astounded many through His miracles, healings and teachings but died a most gruesome death on the cross. To the authorities they were getting rid of a nuisance but to us He was fulfilling the ultimate plan of God, in fact the entire reason for the Universe’s existence in that “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us!”
The punishment for our rebellion against God, that we deserve, was taken by Jesus. He did it so we could have our relationship to God restored. Being saved is the best way to think about it because Jesus actually rescues us from Hell by taking the punishment for our sin.
